15 September 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

OUR FILM-ESSAY “Gluck: At First Glance” WILL BE SCREENED AT ‘OUTSPOKEN’

On 15 September 2018, Pianofabrek (Brussels) is celebrating the start of 2018-2019 cultural season. The Opening Event is a multilingual colloquium on gender equality, LGBTQ + and intersectionality. The program will feature inspiring and innovative writing studios, guest speakers, dialogue tables and spoken word performances. Our short film-essay “Gluck: At First Glance” have been selected to screen at the colloquium at 16:30 – 17:30.

FYI: Gluck [1895-1978] was a prominent, modern British artist. She trained at the St John’s Wood School of Art from 1913-16 and then joined the artists’ colony at Lamorna, Cornwall. The London painter is said to have been one of the first artists to break down the walls of gender sterotyping.
Her paintings were influenced by the artists of different epochs – a confluence of influences – from the masters of Renaissance, the great Flemish painters to impressionism and art deco painting. She was a truly unique artist and one that never belonged to any to any movement or school of painting.
