2018 – now
Communications Manager, Victim Support Europe

Marina has spent the past eight years at Victim Support Europe (VSE), the leading European NGO advocating for the rights of all victims of crime. Founded in 1990, VSE is a network of over 80 member organisations across 30+ countries, supporting more than 3 million people affected by crime each year. The organisation focuses on advocacy, research, knowledge development, and capacity building to strengthen victims’ rights and services across Europe and beyond.

During her time at VSE, Marina progressed from Communications Officer to Senior Communications Officer, and now serves as Junior Communications Manager, leading the organisation’s communications department. Her responsibilities include strategic communications planning, corporate messaging, media and public relations, digital outreach, and knowledge dissemination at EU and global levels, collaborating closely with national teams to tailor strategies to local contexts.

Before joining VSE in 2018, Marina served as Communications Officer at the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE) and as Journalist at the Word Magazine, Brussels. A newsperson at heart, Marina sees storytelling as the binding thread in her career.

Marina is equipped with a master’s degree in public relations from the State Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod, complemented by an advanced Master in Transmedia from Sint-Lukas Brussel. Notably, she holds a Doctorate in Arts from KU Leuven/LUCA School of Arts, underscoring her commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Beyond her professional and academic accomplishments, Marina is an active member of INSL, the International Network for the Study of Lyric, a clearinghouse of information on current advances in the study of poetic theory.
