They zip across the sky,
Fiery dots leaving a glowing trail
Behind
As kiss traces burn the surface
Of my skin.
A falling star
Is larger than the Earth,
But some as small as grains of sand.
Stars shine because they are extremely hot –
A shooting love
Bigger than my heart
Can take.
The ancient ‘world map’
Just for your own two eyes,
The best thing to do
Is to get to as dark
As possible
To increases your chances
Of seeing revealed secrets
Lasting less than a second,
But mostly remember to be patient:
Give yourself hours or even lifetime
To discover
This one falling star’s trail
Leaving you defenceless.
