Black rainstorm – warning signal,
alarm bells
about our changing climate,
rain as a sign
of the apocalypse,
exceptional cold
over my Siberia,
where average temperatures
reached as low
as minus one thousand
above normal
In January.
Black rainstorm begins,
Thick and high,
Then, thicker and higher,
But my land remains
As monotonous as before,
When both sides of the road
Extend the usual lines of birches,
Soundless and without scent…
The power of my taiga
Is not due to trees or their silence,
But due to the fact
that I know where it ends –
It is endless.
