A big (and slightly late) thank you to Sonja Ruud, Marialena Avgerinou, and the amazing ‘COLLAB Research Project’ team for giving Sara Maino and me the chance to share our ‘I CAN SPEAK’ show at the “Polyphony and Silence” symposium in STUK – House for Dance, Image & Sound on May 15.
It meant so much to be part of this powerful space, where themes of linguistic resistance, the politics of voice, tactics of silence, and polyphonic practices were deeply explored and brought to life. These themes help us make sense of where we come from, how we speak up today, and how we imagine a more just and connected future.
And heartfelt smiles to dear friends for the beautiful reunion — Steven Malliet, Lina Vanacker, Ann Geirnaerdt, Inge Demuynck and Jee Kast. Your presence made it all the more special.
