The day we are born
is a plexus of happiness
for our parents and grandparents,
sisters and relatives –
those – in great expectation
to see our faces.
Thus, on my birthday, I am thinking of you,
my parents, my grandma Iskra,
my dearest sister,
you, who were hoping for me
in long dark November
to land on this Earth.
My time here got filled with the joy you learned me to feel:
we had no weekdays,
neither we had mundanity –
you knew how to love breathing and turn it
into something magical.
Surprises were our everydayness.
You unwittingly shaped an attractive
aura around life.
Our home and evenings were full of sun:
of friends, of talks,
of films, of rhyme –
I floated like a butterfly over a big sweet flower…
By this age, I hope some fruits of your love
have broken through:
sometimes I’m asked, what are the tricks and methods I use
in my art,
I say: “I know no schemes and no systems.
The spirit
creates a form for itself.
One must try to figure out how to live here, on Earth,
a righteous journey –
when someone else’s pain becomes your own,
when someone’s else joy is felt
with every motion of your stomach”.
Thanks to my mama, papa, my sister,
my grandma Iskra
for the peace I feel now.
